Newcastle United have joined Brighton & Hove Albion in chasing Fenerbahçe’s Ferdi Kadıoğlu.
Two days ago, reports coming out of Turkey stated the Seagulls have closely followed the 23-year-old this season.
On Friday, Takvim explained Bayern Munich aspire to sign the fullback, while Brighton and Borussia Dortmund are also in the mix. Another report from the same website mentions Newcastle and Roberto De Zerbi’s side.
According to Takvim, the Dutch-born Turkey international is on the agenda for the Magpies and Brighton. Their representatives will be in attendance to watch Kadıoğlu during Fenerbahçe’s clash against Kayserispor later today.
A Fenerbahçe source has told Takvim that Newcastle and the Seagulls will knock on their door with an official offer for Kadıoğlu in the ‘coming days’. The Istanbul club are aiming to collect €20m and the price could rise if he continues to impress this season.
He started his career as an attacking midfielder before being moved to the fullback/wing-back positions last season. Kadıoğlu has mainly operated as a right-back and has also been used on the left side of defence this season.
