If Tottenham Hotspur had any hopes of selling Sergio Reguillon to Atletico Madrid at the end of his loan spell, it seems they can already rule that out.
With only five appearances for the Colchoneros, the fullback is having a disappointing spell in Spain, and that’s now being commented on by the local media.
Outlet El Desmarque features a piece claiming that despite him costing Tottenham €30m, ‘no one wants’ Reguillon now.
Their headline claims that the player has three more months at Atletico Madrid and then will have his ‘farewell’ at the club, not giving any possibility of his long-term stay there.
Reguillon spent most of the season sidelined with a groin injury. In the past few weeks, he had been on the bench, and now that he’d have the chance to start, since Reinildo Mandava is sidelined, the Spurs’ loanee got injured again.
El Desmarque mentions English reports saying Tottenham don’t want him, and Atletico seem to have the same opinion. So that should be a big summer for the fullback, who has a contract with the London side running until 2025.
