Aston Villa’s Enzo Barrenechea has gradually improved for Valencia since joining them on loan on summer deadline day.

He’s made 25 appearances this season and last Thursday, the midfielder stated he instantly fell in love with Los Ches. A day later, the Aston Villa man insisted he wants to continue in Spain beyond this season.

AS now explain when Aston Villa will make a decision on the 23-year-old’s future.

Barrenechea joined the English club from Juventus in July 2024, a month before joining the La Liga side. The report points out he was a bet of Aston Villa director Monchi.

The Villans didn’t include a buying option because they wanted ‘absolute control’ over the player’s future. His contract at Villa Park lasts until 2029 and AS say the Premier League club are ‘taking it easy’ with him.

Aston Villa will bring the Argentine back and won’t make a decision on his future until the summer. In addition to this, they haven’t yet been approached by another club for him.

In short, Unai Emery’s side are ‘in no hurry’ and his impressive performances for Valencia also favour them. They will decide in summer on whether to retain, sell or send him out on loan.

Valencia would like to retain Barrenechea but will have to wait until Aston Villa make a decision on his future.
