Manchester United will make a ‘very important offer’ to Inter Milan star Nicolò Barella in the next few days as they step up their summer transfer window.
That’s according to FC Inter News, who say the midfielder is set to receive an offer from United in the coming days after already turning down Newcastle.
They explain that Barella ‘politely’ rejected an approach from Tyneside in the last few weeks, leading the Magpies to swap targets and focus on Sandro Tonali instead.
They have ‘already knocked on the door’ and contacted both Inter and the player’s agent, Alessandro Beltrami to announce their intentions.
Inter Milan are open to a sale but need an ‘indecent’ offer to be made if they are to let their prized asset depart having already turned down a €70m offer from Newcastle.
Any negotiations will only start for a figure much higher than that, perhaps even as high as the €100m that is being touted for Declan Rice.
Whether Manchester United will go that high, or higher than €70m, remains to be seen but if they make an ‘real offer’ then it will be assessed by Inter and the Sardinian midfielder.
