Saturday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport reports Manchester United have ‘come back strong’ to sign Adrien Rabiot from Juventus.
Newcastle United also have interest and other clubs are expected to come forward for the Frenchman, who is available on a free transfer at the end of his Juventus contract.
There had been hope at the Turin club that they could keep the midfielder with them and get him to sign a new contract, even if it was just a short term one. Corriere dello Sport explain Rabiot has been in great form over the past season for the Serie A side and has finally proven to be the player the club thought they were signing from PSG.
This season he’s been key in midfield and filled the gap that Paul Pogba’s return was meant to address.
Unfortunately for them, as it stands it’s thought an exit is likelier than a stay, and Manchester United are edged forward as a potential destination.
They’ll face some competition though, with Bayern Munich also thought to be seriously interested in the player.
