Manchester United and Barcelona have Vålerenga Fotball’s Gabriel Rajkovic on their agenda.

The 15-year-old initially joined the Norwegian club’s academy in September 2025. He made his senior debut at 14 years of age in a friendly against Örgryte. Two months later, the attacking midfielder made his official debut for Vålerenga against Sandefjord.

At that time, he was 15 years and 20 days old, becoming the youngster player to make his debut in the Eliteserien. He has three goals and an assist from 383 minutes from 14 matches.

Rajkovic has been a regular in the last two months for his club, attracting interest from Manchester United, Barcelona and other clubs.

Manchester United and Barca scouting

TV2 in Norway covers the latest on the Red Devils and the La Liga winners’ interest in the ‘super talent’.

The latest reports from the UK mentioned Arsenal and Chelsea. TV2 backs it up and adds the two London clubs aren’t in the lead.

They also point out Manchester United are the Norway U16 international’s favourite club from his childhood. Although this gives them an edge, it won’t be decisive for him to pick his next club.

Michael Carrick’s side and Barcelona have sent their scouts to watch Gabriel Rajkovic live in action.

The Red Devils followed him in their 2-2 draw against Sarpsborg 08, where the player scored the late equaliser. The Catalan club have their officials watch him closely since he scored against Bodø/Glimt in August.

Record transfer desired

For now, the Norwegian hasn’t decided whether to continue or join another club after this year.

Gabriel Rajkovic has a contract until December 2028 and earlier said he remains focused on the task in hand with the Norwegian club.

He said: “I’m not interested in that at all. I want to be here at Vålerenga and continue my development.”

Vålerenga are aware it’s early to determine his price and their hope is for him to be the Eliteserien’s record sale. The current record is €20m from John Obi Mikel’s sale from Lyn to Chelsea in 2026.

TV2 adds Rajkovic will cost well over 200m NKK [€18.5m]. For now, Manchester United are only scouting him, and there’s nothing to indicate whether they are willing to spend over €20m on the teenager.

The Old Trafford club are also looking at the South American market. Earlier today, Sport Witness exclusively revealed that Manchester United and Chelsea are closely monitoring Palmeiras youngsters.

Why Rajkovic can’t move to the UK in January

If Manchester United or another English club were to agree on a deal, Gabriel Rajkovic can’t move to England in January or for a while.

Brexit won’t allow non-British players to move to the UK until they are 18 years of age. However, that won’t stop the Red Devils from agreeing a deal, for him to arrive at Old Trafford in the summer of 2028.
