Borussia Dortmund appear to be close to sealing a deal for Manchester City’s Yan Couto, with him left out of City’s squad in pre-season.
That’s according to BILD, who say the defender’s move to Dortmund is ‘about to be completed’ and he is ‘on his way’ to Germany.
Dortmund have been linked with a move for Couto over the last few weeks, with the Brazilian seemingly not a part of Manchester City’s plans after returning from a loan spell at Girona.
The German side want to add a full-back to their squad and consider Couto an ideal target and have now been given encouragement in their pursuit as Couto is not travelling with Manchester City’s squad for their pre-season training camp.
According to BILD’s information the two clubs are ‘not very apart’ in terms of a transfer fee either, with Manchester City demanding €30m and Dortmund offering €25m plus €5m in bonuses.
Thus, it is ‘quite possible’ that Couto will even be a part of Dortmund’s group that are training in Bad Ragaz in Switzerland at this moment in time.
That would be a quick escalation of the matter but there is a confidence in Germany that it will be done and Couto’s absence from Manchester City’s group is an indication of that fact.
