Leeds United suffered a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United on Sunday and it was their second fixture since they sacked Jesse Marsch a week ago.
The Whites have seen Rayo Vallecano coach Andoni Iraola and Feyenoord manager Arne Slot already reject them.
Slot has confirmed Leeds’ approach but stressed he won’t be leaving the Eredivisie side to become Marsch’s successor.
On Sunday, De Telegraaf stated Alfred Schreuder was in attendance at Elland Road, along with his agent, Milos Malenovic, for Leeds’ league clash against the Red Devils.
The 50-year-old was sacked by Ajax less than three weeks ago and is in contention to join the English club.
Voetbal International now claim Schreuder is the ‘top candidate’ to become the new Leeds manager. After Slot’s decision to not join the Premier League side, they have turned their attention to his compatriot.
Feyenoord sealed a 2-1 win over SC Heerenveen on Sunday and after the league tie, Slot was quizzed about the latest claims linking Schreuder with the Leeds job.
“Leeds are a wonderful club. Few trainers are given the opportunity to work in the Premier League. You had Ten Hag, Koeman and Van Gaal. Quite a nice list to get into. And then I forget Frank de Boer’s few matches at Crystal Palace. Leeds would be a wonderful club for Alfred,” Slot told NOS.
