Manchester United and Chelsea have ‘expressed an interest’ in Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman, according to Fussball Transfers.

The winger has seven goals and 13 assists in all competitions and his contract with the Bavarian club runs down in 2023.

The 24-year-old wants to continue with his current employer and is discussing extending his contract for three more years. However, the two parties are yet to find an economic agreement.

The first proposal made by the German club included an annual salary of €12m, but it was turned down by the former Juventus man.

As per the report, the France international is demanding around €16-17m to sign an extension, and Bayern have not yet responded to his request. It’s not made clear if the figures mentioned are gross or net salary, although it’s very likely to be former.

While the renewal discussions are taking place in the background, Coman continues to draw attention from the Premier League as clubs from England ‘are lurking’.

The Red Devils and Thomas Tuchel’s side have an interest in the wideman, but neither of them have made any concrete attempts to sign Coman in the summer.

FT end their report by stating: ‘The appreciation for Coman is too great, who now hopes that this can soon be reflected in his contract figures.’

Manchester United and Chelsea have only ‘expressed an interest’ and the possibility of these two sides being used to put pressure on Bayern cannot be dismissed.
