Swansea City have four wins after 15 league matches this season and are currently 18th in the Championship table.
Two days ago, the club parted ways with Alan Sheehan and are searching for a new manager.
The UK press has already named a few options, including Hammarby IF manager Kim Hellberg. Now the Swedish press joins in to give their take on Swansea City’s interest in the 37-year-old.
Expressen report the Swans have identified Hellberg as their ‘main candidate’. They have gathered updates on the Welsh club’s interest from several independent sources.
It’s claimed the Championship side have made contact with the Hammarby IF boss for their vacant managerial job.
The outlet states Swansea City now ‘want to make a wholehearted attempt to recruit’ the Hammarby IF coach.
Hellberg is contracted to the Allsvenskan club, and that contract includes a release clause. Two months ago, Fotbollskanalen reported his clause is between SEK 2.5-3m [€230-270k].
This would be affordable for Swansea City, but they first have to convince the man himself.
