Now that Neymar very much appears to be on his way to Paris Saint-Germain for €222m, Barcelona are having to plan a squad bolstering process, with Liverpool’s Coutinho said to be top of their list.

Having reportedly rejected €80m and €100m bids for the Brazilian already, the Reds have now set a price for their star forward, and it’s €120m.

This is, at least, what Le10 Sport in France are saying in an exclusive on their website.

Constantly stating in public that Coutinho is not for sale, it seems a bit strange for Liverpool to now set a price, especially for just €20m more than what they’ve rejected.

Keen to improve on last year’s fourth place, Klopp and his team will need to keep such an important player, and it seems they know that, even if reports suggest the 25-year-old wants to head to Catalonia.

Of course, there’s only so much money one can refuse, especially in this market, but with the start of the Premier League season so close, finding a replacement in time would prove very difficult.

That’s why selling, or at least ‘setting a price’, makes very little sense.
