West Ham United are interested in a move for Sampdoria defender Omar Colley but could face competition from Leeds United for his signature.
That’s according to Club Doria, who say the Premier League duo are both keen on the 29-year-old centre-back.
They explain that the focus at Sampdoria is currently on players who could leave and Colley, who was one of the ‘most positive revelations’ last season, is a target for several teams.
There is particular interest in the Premier League, where both West Ham and Leeds have shown an interest in him.
West Ham would be a ‘quantum leap’ for the defender, and it would allow him to reunite with an ‘old acquaintance’ in the form of Angelo Ogbonna.
They face competition from Leeds, though, and the defender ‘could also be interested’ in joining Marcelo Bielsa’s side.
A move is very much in the player’s hands, and ‘it remains to be seen’ what Colley will decide to do.
Either way, the centre back can be relied upon to make a capital gain, with Sampdoria eyeing at least €15m for a player who cost them €8m.
That’s a price that both Leeds and West Ham could comfortably afford, so keep an eye on Colley’s name in the coming weeks.
