Tottenham forward Bryan Gil has been urged to ‘get down to work right away’ if he wants to return to Valencia this month.
Gil has been linked with a return to the Spanish club throughout this month, with Gennaro Gattuso and his team remaining big fans of the player after his loan spell there last season.
It had initially been reported that Gil was determined to leave Tottenham again after struggling for gametime under Antonio Conte this season.
The situation has changed in recent weeks, though, with Gil forcing his way into the Tottenham team and taking the opportunity with both hands.
That has made a move away this month seem unlikely, but that has not ended speculation about a potential return to Valencia.
Journalist Toni Hernández covers the situation today for Deporte Valenciano and states that if Gil wants to sign for Valencia and the club wants him, he doesn’t know what they are ‘waiting for’.
He would like to see a loan deal for 18 months with an option to buy that is ‘affordable’ included, not a figure that Valencia could never afford but included ‘for the sake of putting something’.
As far as he is concerned Gil ‘would be very good’ for the Spanish clubs as he is what Gattuso’s team ‘wants and needs’.
Leaving the situation to the last day of the market ‘wouldn’t make sense’ for anyone and instead, if Gil wants the switch, ‘he has to get down to work right away’ to make it happen.
He calls for all the parties, including Tottenham, ‘to be honest and close the file’ so no more time is wasted for all involved.
