Leny Yoro’s development at Manchester United has been mixed, and there’s been limited talk of an exit.
The 20-year-old is yet to make a start in the Premier League this season. He was in the XI for the League Cup match against Brighton, who ran out 3-2 winners as the Frenchman didn’t have a great game.
While he did impress against Sabah in the Champions League, inconsistency has become a pattern. He has now played under three different managers at Manchester United, something which won’t have helped.
Yoro’s development – or the lack of it, has now attracted attention in Italy.
Amorim wants reunion
Calciomercato report that the Manchester United player is on Milan’s shortlist. They tried to sign another centre-back late in the summer and failed to land Tiago Gabriel.
Milan want to achieve that goal in January, with several players being considered. Yoro is now of interest, with Amorim prepared for a possible reunion.
The Rossoneri believe the Frenchman’s slow development at Old Trafford will make a deal easier. He is currently valued at €50m, which would usually be too high for Milan. However, the club’s owner Gerry Cardinale showed quite a bit of ambition in the summer and the same could follow in January.
This makes the idea of a move for Yoro more realistic. Jorge Mendes is expected to be key, as he represents the defender and is also close to Milan. He could push for a January transfer and this will only help the San Siro club.

Our take: Move comes down to player
Milan spent significantly in the summer. The realities of the Italian game mean that going big again in a matter of months would be difficult, unless Milan delay a move for Yoro until the summer.
Regardless, everything will come down to the youngster. Milan’s move will become easier if he wants the transfer and Mendes pushes for it.
Manchester United will soon play a lot of games, even if they’re out of the League Cup. This will hand Yoro enough minutes to make a mark and should make the transfer situation clearer for player and club.
