Tottenham Hotspur‘s Pedro Porro took advantage of the ongoing international break and travelled to Spain to work on his recovery.
The right-back was part of Spain’s squad that won the World Cup in July. This meant he hardly had a pre-season with the Premier League side and missed three matches for Spurs this season.
Porro suffered an injury in Tottenham’s 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa on September 19th and Archie Gray replaced him in the 19th minute. The setback forced him to withdraw from Luis de la Fuente’s squad for September and October fixtures.
Tottenham star wants to optimise performances
The 27-year-old is back in Spain, where he wants to trust the known specialists to help him recover from the setback and improve his performances.
That’s according to Hoy, who cover some of the work carried out by the experts on Pedro Porro. The outlet says his visit to the clinic is a ‘response to an unavoidable setback’.
Policlínica Axis, a specialised clinic in Badajoz, closely worked with the Spurs star and Fabián Ruiz. They helped the duo with their preparation, recovery and physical care during the World Cup.
In July, their Facebook page posted a picture of David de la Hera alongside the duo after the World Cup. This shows the fullback knows and trusts them well.
Policlínica Axis have collaborated with SPZ Iron to help the defender work on his recovery. The latter have confirmed this via their official Instagram channel.
Their caption read: ‘And this time, we were fortunate to welcome Pedro Porro: world champion, professional footballer, from Extremadura, and above all, a great person. Our colleague David de la Hera contacted our colleague Nuno to coordinate a joint effort among different professionals.’
‘The objective? To assess, adjust, and optimise various aspects of his preparation, combining perspectives, experience, and knowledge to always work in the same direction. Because when several professionals share information and work in a coordinated way, the result goes far beyond a single training session.’
After relaying this, Hoy points out the specialists are also working to optimise Porro’s performances.
