Vladimír Coufal has not featured for West Ham United since their 4-0 win over Nottingham Forest on February 25th.
Since then, David Moyes didn’t include the Czech Republic international in the Hammers squad. This didn’t stop the right-back’s national team manager, Jaroslav Šilhavý, from including him in the squad to face Poland and Moldova in European qualifiers.
During a chat with iDNES.cz, Šilhavý has revealed why the 30-year-old didn’t feature for West Ham for close to a month. The coach has also provided an update on his availability to face Poland.
“Vlaďs had health problems with his heel, but at the moment he is doing everything to be ready for Friday. Our side is in daily contact with West Ham, we exchange information and we believe that Vlad will be ready for the match against Poland on Friday,” he said.
iDNES.cz say the fullback is currently with the national team camp. Although he remains doubtful for the upcoming clash for his country, Šilhavý is unlikely to bring in a replacement for the defender.
Coufal has made 26 appearances in all competitions this season for West Ham. If he were to feature against Poland, it would come as an injury boost for Moyes and the Hammers for the final two months of this season.
