Stoke City goalkeeper Viktor Johansson has spoken to the Swedish media following his competitive debut for his country last night against Azerbaijan.
With the absence of Aston Villa’s Robin Olsen due to injury, the Stoke City summer signing got the nod ahead of Derby County’s Jacob Widell Zetterstrom.
Speaking to Aftonbladet, the 25-year-old was quizzed about his future plans and was asked if he has ambitions to play in the Premier League or another major competition in Europe.
Johansson said it wasn’t something he was thinking about at this stage and that he was happy with his situation at Stoke City.
“No, no, God, no. I really like where I am, I get exactly what I need and I have a wonderful goalkeeper coach in Stoke,” said the Swede.
The Sweden international signed for Stoke City from Rotherham United during the summer and has started the Potters opening four league games.
His form in the past couple of years has brought him international recognition and he made his debut in a friendly against Moldova in 2023.
With Olsen side-ined for this international break there’s a chance Johansson could pick up his third cap when Sweden take on Estonia in the Nations League on Sunday.
