It’s now no secret that Everton are big fans of Udinese striker Beto, after it was revealed the Toffees made a bid for him in January.
In need of more attacking power, the Toffees moved for the Portuguese forward late in the transfer window, only to see their offer turned down, pushing any potential transfer to this summer as long as they stay in the Premier League.
His agent gave an interview on Monday to Sport Italia, where he discussed his client’s potential future when asked about interest from Napoli and Premier League clubs (read Everton).
He said: “Everyone sees what Beto is doing. We see it, and the top clubs see it in the same way. His performance speaks for itself and it’s not normal given the fact he arrived in Italy from a small club (Portimonense). This is what arouses the interest of big clubs, I find it normal.”
The Everton target once again made headlines at the weekend, as the 25-year-old was instrumental in the 3-1 win over AC Milan, scoring a goal in the game.
Whether the Toffees return for him in the summer remains to be seen, but the general consensus is that they will, even with the recent impressive performance from Ellis Simms against Chelsea.
Beto has, to date, scored nine goals in 28 appearances for Udinese, and it will be that record as well as his impressive physical stature that will appeal to Sean Dyche for next season.
