Fulham have pressed ahead with a potential deal for Chelsea’s Trevor Chalobah, with talks on over a six-month loan deal.
That’s according to journalist Florian Plettenberg, who says Chelsea and Fulham are discussing a move for the defender this month.
Chalobah has fallen out of favour under Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea, failing to make a single appearance in all competitions despite being a regular last season.
He’s regularly been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge as a result, with Bayern Munich and former manager Thomas Tuchel exploring a move before they eventually signed Eric Dier from Tottenham.
That’s not stopped the rumours of an exit, particularly with Chelsea needing sales of homegrown talent to help balance the books.
Now it appears Fulham are pressing to get him instead, with Florian Plettenberg reporting ‘Fulham want him!’ and are now talking to Chelsea about a six-month loan with an option to buy.
The two sides are reportedly at the ‘talks and ideas’ stage for now, but it’s something that is developing and being worked on, nonetheless.
Marco Silva’s side have been on the hunt for a defender this month and had targeted Çağlar Söyüncü but that move was abandoned and it seems they’ve now looked closer to home.
