Despite four defeats in a row, including a loss to Manchester United at the weekend, it seems Liverpool fans remain a confident bunch.
That’s at least if the latest from Frankfurter Neue Presse is anything to go by. They’re covering the cockiness from Liverpool’s fanbase today after attending a pub in Frankfurt full of them.
They say Liverpool fans are ‘cheering up’ at the thought of taking on Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League this week. They’re seeing the game as a winnable one, in which they can get back on track.
The weekend loss to Manchester United made it four in a row in all competitions and questions are being asked of Arne Slot and his team. But it seems it hasn’t diminished confidence ahead of facing Eintracht.
John is one of the fans optimistic, declaring “we’ll blow Eintracht away” when asked about the game. Pete, originally from Liverpool, is another who is confident that Liverpool will be victorious. “Of course, Liverpool will win on Wednesday,” he added.
Martin, an Eintracht fan, has a warning for the confident Reds though. “They’ll be surprised when they play against us,” he responded when asked.
He was, perhaps, watching the game against Manchester United and isn’t so convinced about Liverpool as their fans seemingly are.
