Earlier today, Estadio Deportivo reported Real Betis have joined the battle to sign Leeds United’s Junior Firpo and have joined Marseille and others in making an offer to the player. They also said the Whites have made a renewal offer ahead of his contract expiring on June 30th.

Tuesday’s edition of Diario de Sevilla backs up Real Betis making an offer for the left-back and provides the latest.

The La Liga club are intensifying their efforts, along with Lazio, to sign the Leeds player.

Junior Firpo was at Real Betis between 2014 and 2019 and is ‘tempted’ to return to his old club.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have entered the race, and the report states ‘everything accelerated’ after the Spanish club called the 28-year-old and his entourage at the weekend.

Lazio have been in regular contact with the Dominican Republic international’s agent for weeks and have been in pole. This was before Real Betis joined the battle and the Leeds player is attracted to the idea of joining them.
