On Wednesday, Sportmediaset reported on Everton interest in Assane Diao and an offer from an unnamed English club was also spoken of. That club appears to be Nottingham Forest.

TuttoSport report the 19-year-old is in high demand after his impressive performances for the Italian side last season, when he scored eight times in Serie A.

The newspaper claim Nottingham Forest have had a €45m offer rejected for the Senegal international and report also clarifies that Everton’s advances have not led to a positive outcome for the Toffees.

Como are making it clear that they want €75m for the attacker, even though he arrived at the Lariani for just €12m in January from Real Betis. Manager Cesc Fabregas is keen on keeping Diao and Nico Paz at the club because of the impact they made last season.

Attempts are also ongoing from Como to remove Real Betis’ 20% sell-on clause in Diao’s current contract. There is no doubt that Diao will be a key player next season in Serie A, and the report feels like an attempt to hype him.

Nottingham Forest and Everton may well be interested but Como have shown a lot of ambition by keeping hold of Fabregas this summer despite approaches from Inter Milan. It will be no surprise if they fend off any suitors for Diao easily.
