Some Wolverhampton Wanderers fans may have forgotten it already, but earlier this month, it was claimed in Brazil that the Molineux side are buying Raphael Veiga from Palmeiras.
Band host Neto said the midfielder should be sold to Wolves next year, and even though that sounded like a weird claim, he sounded very sure about that.
Raphael Veiga is in Brazil’s squad which will face Morocco in a friendly this week, and in a press conference (via Globo Esporte), he was asked about the possibility of moving to Europe in the near future.
“It’s a goal. I think I’m more and more prepared for that. Things happen in the time they have to, it’s a dream of mine,” said Veiga.
“It’s hard to pinpoint a country, but there are some countries that, watching the games, fill my eyes: England and Spain. These are places I like to watch, it’s football that I follow the most. I would stick with these two countries.”
Neto wasn’t the only one talking about Wolves interest in Veiga, as later on, Goal Brasil talked about this chase as well. There, it was claimed that besides the Molineux side, other clubs such as Arsenal and Fulham were both keen on the player as well, but no bids had been made so far.
It was said the offers should arrive from July onwards, so we’ll see how that will go, especially now that the midfielder has a bigger showcase by featuring in the national team.
