Celtic’s Champions League challenge this season will naturally be a tough one, as the Hoops take on Borussia Dortmund, Atalanta, Leipzig and Aston Villa in the competition.

Their campaign starts off with an easier clash, when they take on Slovan Bratislava this evening. And a win today would secure Brendan Rodgers’ side a valuable three points on Match Day One.

Celtic have been getting a lot of attention ahead of the match, and as ever the atmopshere generated by fans during matches have been a theme. Slovan Bratislava’s centre-back Kevin Wimmer has spoken to Kronen Zeitung and made it clear the atmosphere at Celtic Park captivates him.

The Austrian revealed that he watched a game at Celtic Park as a youngster: “As a student in Linz’s senior high school, I saw a Celtic game live for the first time. For me, there is hardly a stadium in the world where the atmosphere is better.”

The ex-Tottenham man isn’t the first player to make his admiration for the Hoops’ stadium clear and the club’s fans will be hoping that it plays in their favour later today.

Considering how stiff the rest of the fixtures are, the clash today is of paramount importance to Brendan Rodgers’ side.
