David Moyes has asked Everton to buy Charly Alcaraz on a permanent basis if his loan deal does not automatically get turned into a permanent transfer.

That’s according to journalist Bruno Lemos, who reports that Moyes wants Alcaraz at Everton permanently regardless of the clause in his loan deal.

Alcaraz is currently on loan at Everton from Flamengo after joining in the January transfer window on a temporary deal that includes a clause to make it permanent.

Everton will be obligated to buy the midfielder for around Everton will be obligated to buy the midfielder for around €18m if he plays 45 minutes in at least six games. There have been conflicting reports from Argentina and Brazil on the number of games required for that though.

Alcaraz has so far made 12 appearances for Everton in the Premier League but only five as a starter including Saturday’s clash with Ipswich. He has managed six games with 45 minutes or more after coming on as a substitute against Chelsea at the end of April.

All indications have been that Everton like the player, with several reports in Brazil stating as much and confidently stating that they would buy him permanently. This was backed up in Argentina, where it was stated the deal had already been done and he would sign a four-year deal with the Toffees.

Lemos now backs up that idea, writing on his X account that ‘at the request of Everton manager David Moyes, the club will buy the player should they fail to meet their objectives.’ In other words, he wants the Argentine midfielder even if his transfer clause is not activated.
