Girona are keen on signing Watford’s Yáser Asprilla this summer.

The winger starred for the Hornets last season, managing six goals and eight assists from 47 games. His fine displays for Watford have seen him attract interest from several clubs.

Cadena Ser journalist Nil Solà took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to claim Girona have been added to this list.

He says the La Liga side will ‘make a huge investment’ on a winger. Solà hasn’t mentioned the fee they are willing to invest but claims Girona have identified the Watford star as their priority target.

The journalist adds the Colombia international ‘wants to come’ to Girona. It’s difficult for them to carry out the deal because there are other clubs interested in the 20-year-old.

Grêmio’s Gustavo Nunes and Fluminense’s Jhon Arias have been identified as alternatives to the Watford attacker.

On Thursday, journalist Guillermo Arango reported the Championship side want €30m for the South American. At this moment in time, none of the interested parties have offered this figure.

Girona will make a ‘huge investment’, but it’s not yet clear whether they will spend €30m on Asprilla.
