Now that Fiorentina are signing Arthur Mello from Juventus, they can now handle the exit of Sofyan Amrabat, who continues to get linked to Manchester United.
The Red Devils are named in a few stories about the Moroccan today. One of them comes from Gazzetta Dello Sport, and says a deal could be found soon.
It’s claimed that despite the interest from Spanish clubs, Manchester United are the ‘most determined’ to land the player, with whom an agreement ‘is not a problem’.
It’s said that the ‘hope of all parties involved’ is that the transfer is done before Monday, when the midfielder would rejoin Fiorentina’s squad.
As Corriere Dello Sport writes about the race, they also claim that Manchester United are ‘in pole position’ in his mind, even though they would need to sell Fred or Donny van de Beek before sorting this arrival.
And finally, we get to see a fresh story from Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna, and that’s a bit of a mixed message about the Moroccan’s future.
It’s claimed that Manchester United made an ‘initial verbal offer’ to Amrabat’s agents, just like Al-Ahli, who are putting a salary of €15m on the table.
The midfielder is said to be ‘not interested’ in this offer as he dreams of playing in Spain, and in case he doesn’t get a good club, he’d rather stay at Fiorentina.
It just isn’t very clear whether his rejection is just to Al-Ahli or to Manchester United as well. Gazzetta points out the Red Devils are ‘obviously’ one of the top clubs who’d attract him, so it’s hard to believe in Old Trafford not being a destination he’d like to go to.
