Yesterday, Calciomercato’s Daniele Longo reported Chelsea are edging closer to signing AC Milan’s Mike Maignan.

The gap between the two clubs was only €5m and the belief was that the good relationship involving the sides can potentially help in reaching an agreement.

The journalist has reported on the Frenchman’s future again today and he claims that Maignan has a very important decision to make between staying at Milan and joining Chelsea.

He is currently aligning to the latter, even if new manager Massimiliano Allegri wants to keep the star goalkeeper at the Rossoneri.

The Italian is convinced that he will soon speak to Maignan personally in a bid to keep him at Milan beyond this season, ut Chelsea are moving quickly and in the next few hours, they will have ‘direct contact’ with the Diavolo about a transfer.

The gap between the clubs is now said to be at €10m instead of €5m and the Blues are yet to go beyond their valuation of €20m. Milan want €30m and talks will take place soon.

Maignan sees a move to Stamford Bridge as a step up and this can prove key in a transfer.
