Chelsea could make a move for free agent Mario Hermoso in the coming days as they continue to strengthen this summer.
That’s according to Radio Ponto Nuovo, relayed by Calcio Napoli 24, who say the defender is hoping to receive a phone call from England as he looks for a new club and Chelsea may be the ones to make it.
Hermoso is currently available on a free transfer after leaving Atletico Madrid and, despite being linked to several sides, is yet to find himself a new club.
Despite there being an agreement in place between the player, and his availability, the Italian side continue to make evaluations and not push ahead.
That’s opened up the door for other clubs and the Premier League is starting to show an interest in Hermoso because of that.
He’s been waiting for a club to make the call and while Chelsea are yet to do that, the situation ‘could be unblocked’ in the next few days. In other words, they could make their move for him.
