Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers had utilised Kyogo Furuhashi regularly until his sale to Stade Rennais in the winter market.
To put it in context, the striker scored 12 goals and registered four assists from 32 games for Celtic.
The Japan international’s performances for Celtic saw the Ligue 1 side offer €12m to Celtic in January.
Jeunes Footeux state the French club convinced him to join them by offering €250,000 per month.
Jorge Sampaoli was the manager when Furuhashi arrived at the club from Celtic. Stade Rennais replaced the Argentine with Habib Beye and the attacker has struggled under the current manager. Beye has favoured Mohamed Kader Meïté ahead of him.
The 30-year-old hasn’t managed to replicate his Celtic form at Stade Rennais just yet. He’s played 120 minutes from six games and is yet to score or register an assist.
According to Jeunes Footeux, Furuhashi is looking more and more like an ‘expensive error’ from Stade Rennais. He also doesn’t seem to be happy with his situation since leaving Celtic.
The report states Furuhashi’s agent is working behind the scenes to find a new club in the summer window, also because Beye doesn’t want to count on him next season.
