Danny Röhl has gone quiet since his German media tour, with the Sheffield Wednesday manager having failed, so far at least, to convince RB Leipzig to take a bet on him. The manager leaving the Owls is still very much on the agenda, especially after him speaking like he’d already done so.

His standing among Sheffield Wednesday fans has dropped as a result of him rattling the cage and whilst there’s appreciation for what he’s achieved, some love has been lost along the way.

Röhl probably won’t be held with the same emotional fondness that Carlos Carvalhal is. The manager created a strong bond with the Yorkshire club’s fanbase and almost got them promoted to the Premier League.

Since then he’s been on a varied journey and now finds himself set for another change.

A Bola and others in Portugal report SC Braga are close to parting ways with the manager. Carvalhal took over at Braga in August after the previous incumbent had lasted a month. He finished fourth this season, but the club’s ownership have very big ambitions, wanting to win the title within four years.

Braga have never won the title and are in a league with Sporting CP, SL Benfica and FC Porto, so it’s certainly quite the aim.

Carvalhal is expected to be on the market soon.
