Burnley are standing firm on their transfer demands for Luca Koleosho, with €10m+ bids not yet tempting them into a sale.
Corriere Fiorentino, via Labaro Viola, report that Fiorentina’s effforts to sign the Burnley winger have so far been unsuccessful.
€10m not enough
The newspaper reports that Fiorentina director of football Fabio Paratici has been facing issues targeting the players at the top of his list this summer. And in that scenario, he may end up exploring previous options or those ‘kept under wraps’.
Among those is Burnley’s Luca Koleosho. He’s a long-discussed target. Sport Witness have covered their interest earlier this month. But the Italian side are yet to reach an agreement with Burnley for the 21-year-old.
The Championship side are continuing to demand more than the €10m that Fiorentina have currently offered for the winger. The Clarets are also seemingly uninterested in the ‘slightly higher bid’ from Paris FC. Both have ‘failed to satisfy them’ at this moment in time.
What do Burnley want?
There is no indication of what they want for Koleosho this summer. Transfermarkt currently rates the forward at €6m, so Fiorentina and Paris FC would presumably consider their offers as very fair.
There is no pressure to sell either. Koleosho is currently tied to a deal until 2029 at Turf Moor. So, they are protected on that front as well.
The question may be what Luca Koleosho wants. He’s spent last year on loan away from Burnley, first with Espanyol and then Paris FC. The latter was certainly more successful as he managed three goals and one assist in 18 games for the French side.
That is perhaps why they are keen to sign him on a permanent basis. But so far it seems their attempts, and Fiorentina’s, are falling on deaf ears. The Clarets seemingly want considerably more than the €10m on the table.
