Burnley have intensified talks in recent hours to sign Loum Tchaouna from Lazio, reports Sky Sport Switzerland on Monday.

The newly promoted Premier League club have made progress with efforts for the 21-year-old. Tchaouna usually plays on the right wing, but can operate across the attack or as a right wing-back.

Lazio have had him on a contract lasting until 2029, and he made 37 appearances for the Serie A club last season. However, he didn’t complete a single league match for the Rome club and totalled around 1300 minutes, which tells a different story to the match number.

During those minutes, Tchaouna managed two goals and one assist. His standout match of the last campaign was against Ajax in the Europa League, where he scored a goal and provided and assist in a 3-1 victory for Lazio.

The youngster is said to be keen to join Burnley, and it’s thought the Clarets could be set to pay around €14m for the France U21 international.

Gianluca Di Marzio is also reporting the Burnley move being close, and he puts the transfer fee at €13-15m.
