Mahmoud Dahoud’s move to Brighton & Hove Albion hasn’t quite worked out.
He’s played only nine times in the league for the club and those appearances came in the first half of last season.
Dahoud was then loaned out to Stuttgart in the second half of the campaign and he played regularly. His return to Brighton hasn’t gone well, with the midfielder yet to play once for the Seagulls, and being edged out of the club’s squad.
Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger has reported that a ‘surprise’ exit could take place for Dahoud on deadline day.
There is interest from Eintracht Frankfurt and in the last few hours, talks between the clubs have gained momentum.
Dahoud ‘wants the move’ to Frankfurt and at the same time, Brighton are also open to the idea of the exit.
Even if there is no final agreement in place, Berger mentions that the deal is a ‘firm’ one and is being worked on. There is no confirmation of whether it would be a loan deal or a permanent move.
If Eintracht Frankfurt don’t land the Brighton outcast, they have alternatives in mind already.
