Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton are chasing Sevilla’s Juanlu Sánchez, according to a report from Spain.
The La Liga side’s academy graduate has operated as a right-back, central midfielder and an attacking midfielder this season, managing five goals and four assists from 22 games.
He continues to ‘arouse interest’ from other clubs, including Brighton and Everton. That’s at least what Mundo Deportivo are reporting and they provide Sevilla’s plans for him.
Real Madrid have been credited with an interest in the versatile player. The report points that out and then mentions Brighton, Everton, RB Leipzig and Galatasaray.
These four clubs have approached the Andalusian club and some of them have even made offers. Mundo don’t make it clear whether Brighton and Everton have sent proposals for the 21-year-old.
Earlier this month, we covered claims from Spain that Sevilla rejected the Toffees’ offer to sign Juanlu Sánchez on loan without a purchase option on winter deadline day.
Everton, along with the Seagulls and others, would have approached the Spanish club to ask the conditions needed to sign him.
The Spaniard’s contract lasts until 2026, and Sevilla want to renew it and double his release clause to €40m. They have made an offer, likely to fend off Brighton, Everton and other suitors.
Sevilla haven’t been successful yet and are awaiting Juanlu Sánchez’s response. The report states he intends to continue but doesn’t want to rush to make a decision.
Brighton and Everton must convince the player to reject the renewal proposal to stand a chance in the summer window.
