Brentford have submitted an improved offer for Fiorentina’s Nico Gonzalez worth more than €40m as they seek to bolster their squad before the end of the window.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who say emissaries have sent the offer from Brentford and Fiorentina are set to ‘sit down’ and evaluate it.
The website reports that, according to their information, Fiorentina are considering the bid from Brentford after turning down an initial effort from the Bees.
That proposal was lower than the minimum Fiorentina have set on the player before they will consider a sale.
The Italian side, though, are willing to sit down at the negotiating table and will listen to offer presented to them before moving on from there.
That is what they intend to do with Brentford’s latest bid for Gonzalez, with representatives on behalf of the Bees presenting an offer worth more than €40m for the winger.
Fiorentina would prefer not to sell if they can, but that number is enough to make them ‘waver’ and they are evaluating the bid ‘very seriously’ before proceeding.
If they decide to accept, they will give the player permission to discuss personal terms and consider the potential career step, but that decision has not yet been made despite Brentford’s very tempting proposal.
