Michael Kayode has been linked with a potential exit from Fiorentina this summer.

He recently was part of La Viola’s squad for a goalless draw against Venezia but remained on the bench.

There may be reasons behind his recent lack of game time and Gianluca di Marzio has reported that Brentford are interested in the defender, who can play at centre-back and at right-back too.

Brentford’s interest has been described as ‘real and concrete’, as they’ve made an initial enquiry about the 20-year-old

This was followed up by an offer by the Bees, who put forward an initial loan with an obligation to buy that can be triggered if he plays a certain number of games.

The amount was between €20m and €22m.

For now, the bid isn’t acceptable to La Viola and Brentford may have to make a renewed attempt to sign Kayode. The ‘conditions’ of the offer weren’t impressive enough for Fiorentina, which might suggest that they want an outright sale of their talented asset.
