On October 24th, Genoa defender Radu Drăgușin’s agent Florin Manea revealed he’s held talks with Newcastle United over a deal for his client.
Two days ago, the representative doubled down on the Magpies’ interest in the 21-year-old, and suggested that he’ll soon receive an offer. Manea has also insisted the Serie A side are ready to sanction the defender’s sale for €30m.
AS.ro have interviewed Radu’s mother, Svetlana. During the chat she was told about Newcastle joining the race for her son’s services and that Genoa are willing to let go of him.
That’s certainly a boost for Eddie Howe’s side and any interest they have.
Genoa initially signed the Romania international on loan from Juventus in 2022 and made his stay permanent in the summer.
AS.ro claim his performances have helped him double his valuation in six months, making him currently the ‘best-rated Romanian’, and this has pleased his mother.
“I am glad that he proves that work is the key to success,” Svetlana said.
Radu has made 11 appearances this season for Genoa
