Earlier this week, reports from Italy said Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Juventus fullback Andrea Cambiaso.

It was claimed several Premier League clubs had been chasing him in the summer, and Spurs apparently continued with the pursuit.

Coincidentally or not, we now see Cambiaso’s agent giving TuttoJuve an exclusive interview about the player’s situation at Juventus.

Tottenham were not directly named in this conversation, although the agent made it clear that there was English interest in the last transfer window.

“There were a couple of Italian clubs, one that came out of the woodwork was AC Milan, and three or four Premier League clubs were also very interested,” Giovanni Bia told TuttoJuve.

“We were not surprised that Juve considered him non-transferable, they would have sold him only in return for an offer of €25-30m.”

Cambiaso has a contract with Juventus running until 2027, and that’s the reason why the agent didn’t even want to talk about a new deal for now.

“He has a long contract and will still have to work to prove himself. Then it will be Juve themselves who will call us to communicate their intentions, but right now we don’t think about it at all. He only thinks about playing and doing well with this jersey, then things will come by themselves.”

The fullback is currently valued by Transfermarkt at €10m, and that other valuation made by Juventus in the summer gives a good idea of how highly they rate him.

His playing time at the Old Lady this season should be crucial for a potential exit next year, with Tottenham said to be watching the situation.

Despite all of that, he’d surely only get a squad role at Spurs, at least initially.
