On Friday morning, Spanish newspaper Sport had a story about Aston Villa star Douglas Luiz on their front page.
There it was claimed that Barcelona are very interested in his signing, and ready to make a ‘massive investment’ to bring him to the Camp Nou.
Sport are now back with a new piece to compliment that story, this time explaining why the Aston Villa player ‘convinces’ Barça.
It’s said Douglas Luiz fits the profile that Deco is looking for, as he’s a very balanced midfielder, who is in the best moment of his career.
Sport write that he’s ‘ready to take a step forward’ in his career and leave Aston Villa, as he has a lot more to show elsewhere, and Barcelona want to be the destination.
The story makes it sound like Barcelona are very convinced to try his signing, but now comes the hardest part, which is to find a deal for the transfer. It’s said that even though he has a market value of €60m, the competition from Premier League clubs could make Monchi demand up to €100m for the move.
Therefore, Barca would need to find a lot of financial room before next summer.
