With Aston Villa named as one of the main contenders to sign Atlético Madrid defender Mario Hermoso in the summer, clubs seem to be taking that pursuit very seriously.
Italian outlet Calcio Mercato share a story on Juventus’ quest for a new defender, and among the names in their list, there’s the Spaniard’s.
The report makes it clear that the Old Lady do not hold the lead for that signing, though, as they’d need to ‘speed up’ to ‘prevent’ Hermoso from moving to Aston Villa.
Now even though Juventus would welcome him there, it’s made clear that it’s Aston Villa who currently stand closer to his signing.
Unai Emery’s side have now been linked to Hermoso since February, with recent claims from Spain saying there are ‘advanced negotiations’ for his arrival at Villa Park.
With the competition growing, it seems crucial that Aston Villa find an early deal with him.
