Earlier this week, Cristhian Mosquera rejected Valencia’s renewal offer as he wants to join Arsenal this summer. The centre-back’s contract is until 2026, and the La Liga club have rejected the Gunners’ first bid for him.

On Thursday, Superdeporte reported a new Arsenal bid is imminent and the Gunners are expected to offer around €20-25m including bonuses.

Friday’s edition of Superdeporte states Los Ches could decide not to sell central defender Yarek Gasiorowski as Mosquera aims to leave this summer. The 21-year-old’s exit could provide Gasiorowski with more minutes next season.

The report states the Spanish club are currently focusing on signing Athletic goalkeeper Julen Agirrezabala and Mosquera’s departure.

With regards to the defender, talks are in full swing between his agent, Mikel Arteta’s side and Valencia. The latter are hoping to collect €20m from his sale.

Over at Marca, they state Valencia CEO Ron Gourlay personally made the renewal offer to Mosquera, which he rejected.

The player has ‘a very significant offer’ from the Premier League side and would like for them to agree terms with Los Ches. For now, the two clubs aren’t close to reaching an agreement, unless Arsenal decide to raise their offer to meet Valencia’s €20m request.

Plaza Deportiva, after discussing Mosquera’s decision to reject the renewal offer, focus on Arsenal.

It’s claimed the Gunners have approval from the Spain U21 international and will try to sign him ‘on the best possible terms’. Valencia’s request is €20m+ and Arsenal, for now, are far from meeting it.

The outlet ends their report by stating: ‘The English club remains interested in Mosquera, thanks to their sporting director, Andrea Berta, who previously wanted to sign him for Atlético Madrid. Arsenal will once again pursue the centre-back, who likes the sporting prospects of Arteta’s team, which has recently challenged for the Premier League title and performed well in the Champions League.’
