Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer wants to be fit on time to face Arsenal in the Champions League clash at the Emirates next Tuesday, according to Bild.
The Germany international, who missed most of 2023 due to a leg fracture, returned to action in October. He suffered another setback in March and has been sidelined since then.
Neuer is aiming to make his comeback in the Champions League quarter-final clash against Arsenal.
The 38-year-old has a muscle fiber tear in his left adductor and is continuously working to regain full fitness.
On Saturday, Thomas Tuchel’s side will take on Heidenheim, and the report states the stopper will avoid taking the ‘risk’ to play, ahead of the clash against the Gunners.
Bild say the Germany international wasn’t able to train, likely with the rest of the squad, on Wednesday. Instead, he worked with Bayern’s rehabilitation coach, Simon Martinello.
The German is desperate to be fit to face Arsenal and his inclusion could be a massive boost for Bayern.
