Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin is willing to ‘significantly lower’ his wages so he can return to Real Betis this summer.

That’s according to ABC Sevilla, who continue to cover the defender’s future and a potential return to Spain today.

They explain that of all Betis’ targets, Bellerin is the closest to being secured. He is set to meet Arsenal as soon as possible to discuss being released from the Emirates.

Arsenal’s sporting director Edu has suggested an early termination as the best course of action and Mikel Arteta is happy for it to happen as Bellerin is not in his plans.

The defender, for his part, has ‘made it clear to everyone’ at Arsenal that he wants to leave to join Betis so the ‘path has been mapped out’.

He will be free to sign for the Spanish club once he’s been released but his salary will be ‘significantly lower’ than what he was earning at the Emirates.

His commitment to his boyhood club, who he joined on loan last season, is unwavering and he has already turned down offers from several Italian and Spanish clubs so he can wait for them.
