Olivier Giroud’s agent, Vincenzo Morabito, has insisted he “wants to avoid commenting on” the reports linking Olivier Giroud to Everton.
Everton failed to sign a single player during the January transfer window, despite it being widely accepted at the club that they needed additions for their battle against relegation.
Despite their failure to sign anyone, they were linked with numerous forward players during the window, particularly at the end when they were desperately scrambling to find a forward to add to their squad.
One of the surprise names linked was Giroud, with it revealed on deadline day that they had made a big offer for him late in the day.
That never went through, with the player preferring to stay at AC Milan than return to England for a relegation battle on Merseyside.
His agent has now commented on the rumours, although he is keen not to divulge too many details about the reported bid from Everton.
“I can only say that he never wanted to think about leaving AC Milan,” Pianeta Milan report him saying.
“There is a good relationship with the club and with the fans. What comes out of England are situations that I want to avoid commenting on. There is a contract until June.
“Milan themselves have never considered parting with the player. It’s always a pleasure that a player almost considered finished at this age goes to the World Cup and scores four goals.
“In the league he is giving a lot, last year he was decisive and gave Milan many points. He always scores big goals.”
