Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has a representative who loves talking to the press, especially the Italian media. The agent has given more than five interviews on his client’s situation at Stamford Bridge in the last two months.
Jorginho’s current deal runs down in 2023 and he has managed to retain his place in the Blues’ starting lineup even after Thomas Tuchel replaced Frank Lampard in January.
On March 11th, agent João Santos admitted the former Napoli star a return to the Naples club is ‘certainly’ a possibility.
Last week, the 29-year-old’s representative also opened the door to a return to the Serie A in the next market, if the London club decide not to offer the player an extension.
“He has a two-year contract with Chelsea. He thinks about playing the European Championship. And then the World Cup in Qatar. He will remain at Chelsea, one hundred percent,” Santos said.
When pressed if Jorginho will renew his contract at Chelsea, his agent explained: “We will talk about it in a few months.”
Based on the interviews Santos has given in last month or so, we won’t be surprised if the agent provides a new stance on Jorginho’s Chelsea future in the coming weeks.
