Fenerbahce manager Aykut Kocaman has spoken to Haberturk about the situation with his injured players after the draw with Genclerbirligi at the weekend, including Tottenham Hotspur loanee Vincent Janssen.
Fenerbahce were without several first team players, among them former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel and Janssen due to injury.
After the game with Genclerbirligi at the weekend Kocaman gave an update about his injured players, and his comments will come as bad news bad news for Tottenham: “We have no anticipation about Vincent Janssen, a long time, 50/50 for Skrtel.”
The Dutch striker was injured in the game against Bursaspor in early December and he’s been unable to train for almost two months. The medical team at Fenerbahce have been unable to confirm his diagnosis, after test results were sent to a specialist clinic in Germant.
Janssen’s foot injury is reportedly to nerves so the doctors can’t take the risk of surgery, and the player has been unresponsive to medication.
Tottenham have been kept informed of his situation, but the longer this drags on it will become a concern for the Premier League side, if they have plans to sell him this summer.
Fenerbahce had wanted to cut the loan short in January, but Tottenham apparently knocked that option back. Now with an increasingly serious sounding injury added to his problems in front of goal, Janssen’s value continues to drop.
