The Portuguese media have been publishing a lot about Liverpool lately. Benfica star Anderson Talisca has been repeatedly linked with a move to Liverpool by the Portuguese media, and now they’ re looking back on a possible Danilo Barbosa move.
Danilo was playing for Brazilian club Vasco da Gama in 2013, when Liverpool approached to sign him in a €3.5m deal.
However, super agent Jorge Mendes hijacked any potential deal by offering €4m for the youngster, and signed him with the help of Brazilian agent Carlos Leite. That would mean Liverpool lost out because of €500k.
In February of 2015, O Jogo insisted Liverpool were still interested, and had even attended a Braga game accompanied by Gestifute, as they looked to get a head start in recruiting the player.
Danilo spent last season on loan at Valencia, taken there by Gestifute’s Mendes.
