Tottenham Hotspur sent a scout to Istanbul on Friday night to watch Turkey against Iceland, say claims in the Turkish media.
It’s been reported by Fotomac, via BJK, that Tottenham travelled to Turkey last week to get a lowdown on Turkish forward Cenk Tosun, who was linked with a move to the Premier League in the summer.
With Vincent Janssen heading to Galatasaray on loan in the last window, Tottenham may look to bolster their attacking options in the new year, and Tosun could be an option as back up to Harry Kane and Fernando Llorente.
Cenk has already been linked with a move to the Premier League after Crystal Palace and Newcastle United table bids for the player this summer.
It’s was also reported Tottenham’s local rivals Arsenal were at the game, but they were casting an eye on Tosun’s Beskitas teammate Oğuzhan Özyakup.
The Turkey international came through the Arsenal youth system, but was sold to Beskitas after failing to make the breakthrough with the Premier League side.
