This weekend Sport Bild cited ‘The Sun’, after the British newspaper reported Bayern Munich are showing an interest in Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Eric Dier.
According to the Sun, Dier is appreciated by Bayern Munich coach Carlo Ancelotti due to his versatility. The Tottenham player can operate in various positions, primarily as a defensive midfielder, and the England international could be a good fit for the Bundesliga side.
However, Sport Bild states: ‘The speculation that Bayern Munich could actually go back into the transfer market at this stage seems to be questionable. Especially as Ancelotti has already announced his squad is complete.’
Sport Bild also adds Tottenham are unlikely to let Dier leave this summer. They point out Dier is one of Tottenham’s most reliable players, and is contracted to the London club until 2021.
The Premier League side have already managed to keep Dier at the club despite the player being linked with Manchester United, and will do likewise with Bayern Munich’s interest.
Moreover, they have also sold Kyle Walker to Manchester City this summer and with no new signings yet, Tottenham don’t need to sell Dier for any financial reasons.
